Obituary for Vincent D. Foley Jr.

Obituary On: Vincent D. Foley Jr. Voorheesville-Vincent D. Foley Jr. age 61 years died suddenly Tuesday August 20, 2002 in his home. Born in Albany he was the son of Bert Foley of Rensselaer and the late Vincent D. Foley Sr. He has lived in Voorheesville for the past 29 years. Mr. Foley was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Vince retired from the Albany Police Department as a Commandeer in 1997 after 35 years of service to the department. He was currently employed as security monitor with the Albany City School District. Big Vin was dedicated to serving the youth. He was founding commanding officer of the Albany Police Department Juvenile Unit in 1975. He was Treasurer for District 13 Little League in addition was a former president of both Whitehall Little League and Albany Pop Warner Football. He dedicated over 34 years as a coach for Albany Pop Warner Football as well. Vince was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge of Elks BPOE 2233 and the Voorheesville Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid Nascar fan. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Ann ONeil Foley of Voorheesville; his children Karen Lambrese of Providence RI, Vincent Foley of Voorheesville, and Kristen (Ben) Von Fricken of Rotterdam and his grandchildren Courtney and Kelly Lambrese, Patrick Foley and Sean Foley. Mr. Foley is also survived by a brother Edward Foley and a sister Carla Conklin both of Albany. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 400 Delaware Avenue Albany Friday morning at 8:00 and 9:00 at Historic St. Marys Church on Capitol Hill Lodge Street Albany where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Our Lady Help of Christian Cemetery Glenmont. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to Albany Pop Warner Football c/o Excelsior Credit Union 341 New Karner Road Albany N. Y. 12205
