Groff, Earl F. BRUNSWICK Earl F. Groff, 71, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittstown, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frances Pike Groff. A lifelong Brunswick resident, he was in the trans-portation industry and was the owner-operator of the Groff Trucking Company until his retirement. Earl was a master of all trades and enjoyed working around the house he built and helping others with projects of all descriptions. He was a dedicated, hardworking, devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He enjoyed traveling and had been all over the country and throughout the Caribbean with his beloved wife of over 31 years, Victorine Fitzsimmons Groff. His presence will be missed but the memories will always be in our hearts. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his children, Donald Groff of Troy, Barbara Burkhart, Kevin Groff of Wynantskill, Debbie Willis of Fla., Chrissy (Rocco) Oppedisano of Brunswick, Kyle (Kim Lindeman) Groff of Wynantskill, and Stephanie (John) Comitale of North Greenbush; his sisters, Ruth Davila of Schaghticoke, Margaret Grieco of Latham and Marion Niekarcz of Syracuse; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence and Franklin and his lifelong friends, Janice and Wayne Doscher. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. from Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
