Funeral services for Bobby Joe Nail, 75, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Bobby passed away Monday, February 4, 2008, at his residence. Bobby Joe Nail was born June 15, 1932, in Boles, Oklahoma, to the late Joseph Sherman and Evelyn Alice Roberts Nail. He grew up and graduated from high school in Burneyville, Oklahoma, which is just outside of Marietta. He served his country in the United States Navy in Guam during the Korean Conflict. After he returned home, Bobby married Loretta Martha Hammons in Gainesville, Texas, on August 21, 1954. Bobby attended Tishomingo Jr. College for two years before graduating with a teacher’s certificate from North Texas State University. He and Loretta made their home in Carrollton while raising their two sons and after retirement they moved to Nocona, Texas, where they lived for fifteen years. They moved to Wills Point a year ago to be near family. Bobby is a member of First Baptist Church in Nocona, where he also served as a deacon. Along with his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Nail and his sister, Mary Lou Berratto. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Nail of Wills Point; sons, Lance Nail and wife, Pat of Dallas and Zane Nail of Wills Point; sister, Thelma Roberts of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Micah Nail, Cayla Nail, Brittni Nail and Kyndall Paige Nail; and great-grandchild, Carmen Paige Nail. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to service time.
