Barnard Bee Brewer, Jr., age 85, of Euharlee died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Duluth, Georgia. Born in South Carolina on Oct. 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Barnard Bee Brewer and Gladys Hendrick Brewer. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Joan Gaskey Brewer; and his brothers, Wade and Carl Brewers.
Mr. Brewer was employed by Yellow Freight for thirty eight years as a truck driver. He enjoyed owning his own business, watch making, jewelry repairs, going to the dog tracks, deep sea fishing, the Atlanta Braves, gardening, and tinkering on lawn mowers and cars. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his children: Barnard B. Brewer III and his wife Darlene of Euharlee ; Donnie Ray Brewer of Euharlee; Melvinda Yvonne Nichols of San Francisco, Calif.; Barry Judson Greer of Charlotte, NC; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine Brewer of Charlotte, NC; Sara Brewer of Charlotte, NC; Margaret and Frank Corillion of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; Marie and Pete Cruise of Charlotte, NC; Joann and Kenneth McCullough of Marietta; his brother, Al Brewer of Charlotte, NC; his sisters-in-law, Jean Brewer of Charlotte; Brenda Brewer of Pauleys Island, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Gary Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 9 p.m. Pallbearers are asked to meet at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. and will include: Stacy Jones, Gary Woods, Rodney Porter, Todd Cochran, Pinkey Lee and David Smith. R. L. Stringer, Rick Sutter and Jeff Cooper will serve as honorary pallbearers. Some of Mr. Brewers special friends are Elidah Stringer, Vickie Wilkins, Tristan Evans, Craig Gaskey and Stacy Jones.
