Cleveland Pierce, a lifelong resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life Thursday, February 10, 2011, in Evening Shade, Arkansas, at the age of eighty-seven. He was born, February 6, 1924, in Mulberry, Arkansas, the son of William and Minnie (Rice) Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Preston Pierce, Isaac Pierce, and Harvey Pierce, two sisters: Laveda Andrews and Ruby Blaylock. Cleveland is survived by three sons: Paul Pierce and wife Janice of Wynne, Arkansas, Rickey Pierce and wife Debbie of Cherry Valley, Arkansas and Tony Pierce of Hunter, Arkansas, three daughters: Joann Wagster and husband William of Evening Shade, Arkansas, Diane Anderson and husband Gene of Monroe, Arkansas, and Shirley Jarrett and husband Larry of Wynne, Arkansas, one brother: Garland Pierce of Wynne, Arkansas, one sister: Regina Martin of Wynne, Arkansas, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
