Graveside services for Wade Leon Sammy Egan will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Soper Cemetery, with Buck Ensey officiating. Sammy Egan passed away at his home near Unger, OK on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the age of 58. Sammy Egan was born December 2, 1951 in Oakland, California. He was raised by Jack Egan and Ruth Egan-Larrimore. Sammy lived 30 years in this area and had worked at an area saw mill and did other odd jobs around as needed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Egan-Larrimore; and two step-daughters, Debra Ward and Donieta Bruce. Sammy is survived by his former wife, close neighbor, and confidant whom he married in 1981, Ollie Faye Egan of Unger, OK; three step-sons, Don Ward and wife Amy of Unger, OK, Danny Ward and wife Jane of Valliant, OK, Carl Bo Ward of Unger, OK; three step-daughters, Peggy Lessenger and husband Randy of Antlers, OK, Christi Pierce and husband Sam of Boswell, OK, Terry Bohanan and husband Jonathan of Unger, OK; four brothers, Earl Egan and wife Sue of Soper, OK, Eddie Egan and wife Georgia of Wann, OK, Lloyd Egan and wife Pat of CA, Bill Egan and wife Nellie of Henderson, NV; four sisters, Leatha Morse and husband Doug of NV, Rosetta Carter and husband Bob of Copan, OK, Dolly Chapman of Ponca City, OK, Louise Tenny and husband Don of Tyler, TX; sixteen step-grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren whom he loved and was in return loved by very much; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel.
