Obituary for Marvin (m.c.) Smith

Service for Marvin (MC) Smith will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Hopewell Freewell Baptist in Kenefic, Oklahoma. Officiating will be the Rev. Randy Tadlock and Bro. Leonard Cook. Internment will follow in the Centerhill Cemetery in Kenefic, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be James Marvin Smith, Jerry Wayne Smith, J.C. Smith, Chester Tom Smith, Michael Aplin and Tony Belcher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ethan Wayne Smith and Matthew Franklin. Marvin Smith was born April 2, 1920 in Kenefic, Oklahoma to Mark and Ida Mae (Williams) Smith. He passed from this life Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in Silo, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Mr. Smith was a member of the Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church. Marvin enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening, listening to music, watching game shows and sports. He also loved building cabinets. He loved his cat Baby Doll and spending time with his family. Marvin was self employed as a carpenter, contractor and Mail Carrier. He is survived by his son Jerry James Smith and wife Ginger of Silo, Oklahoma, daughters Rosetta Dunn of Durant, Oklahoma, Liz McWilliams of Durant, Oklahoma and Patsy Aplin and husband Johnny of Calera, Oklahoma, son Vernon Smith and wife Nancy of Silo, Oklahoma, brother Bertie Smith of Kenefic, Oklahoma. 7 Grandsons, 9 Granddaughters, 24 Great- Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great- Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife: Inez Smith daughter: Florence Green; sisters: Emily Smith and Ruby Norman; brother: Clyde Smith.
