Obituary for Neoma Tarr

Services for Neoma Flo Tarr (89) of Bennington, Oklahoma will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home Chapel 121 N. 5th ST, Durant with Bro. Jimmy Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery near Marrietta, Oklahoma. Flo was born Tuesday August 30, 1921, in Leon, Oklahoma to George P . & Virda Mae (Basinger) Washington. She went home Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Calera, Oklahoma Mrs. Tarr was a member of the Bokchito Church of Christ and The Ladies Club of Bennington. Flo was a city council member Mayor and long-time secretary for the city of Bennington. She enjoyed taking part in and staging the city's homecoming parade. Flodell loved her community and her family taking care of both was her greatest love. She is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law George and Carolyn Tarr of McAlester, Oklahoma, Grand-Daughter Kara Hodge of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Grandson Brent Tarr and wife Tiffany of Irving, Texas, Great-Grandsons Hunter Hodge of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Colt Dunbar of Dubach, Louisanna Great-Grandaughter Callie Lynn Tarr of Irving, Texas, Special friends and her second family Carol Moss of Bennington, Oklahoma, Sheila Moss of Bennington, Oklahoma; as well as many other relatives and friends. Flodell was preceded in death by her Parents George P. and Virda Mae Washington and her Husband: Thomas Coker Tarr.
