Judith E. Hale 1942 ~ 2011 Judith E. Hale, 68, of Shippensburg, died on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on October 26, 1942, in Chambersburg. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth M. and Eunice J. Jones Hale, Sr. A 1960 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School, Judith then went on to attend Shippensburg University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and elementary education, graduating in 1964. She earned her Master’s degree, from Shippensburg University, also in elementary education. Upon graduation from college, Judith became a third grade teacher for the Shippensburg Area School District, retiring in 1991. She then started a second career as a full time Realtor, working alongside her brother at the former Hale Real Estate, Shippensburg. In her leisure time, Judith traveled extensively across the United States and Europe and in her later travels she took many cruises with her destinations being the Mediterranean, Baltic, and North Seas, and through the Panama Canal. Judith also had a great love for animals, especially her three cats. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth M. Hale, Jr., and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Kevin E. Hughes will officiate. Interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church at 30 South Penn St. Shippensburg, PA 17257 or the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter at 2325 Country Road Chambersburg, PA 17201.
