Mr. Burl W. Wolford, age 61, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia passed away Friday (May 20, 2011) at a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born June 27, 1949 in Russell County, Virginia he was a son of the late Eugene Lishner and Lucy Ellen Patrick Wolford. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of the Free Christian Church of Big A Mountain and the Fox Hunters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Eugene Wolford; one sister, Betty Louise Wolford and special friend, Debbie Ferrell. Survivors include one sister, Joan Wolford Steffey of Honaker; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ollie Wolford of Honaker; special friends and caretakers, Steve and Gina Mullins of Honaker; two special children, Dava Howington and Kimberly Hess both of Honaker; special grandchildren, Autumn Howington, Hunter Dingess, Nicholas Courtney, Savannah Saine and Lilly Saine and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday in the Claypool Cemetery on Big A Mountain with Pastor Larry Brooks officiating. Interment will follow. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Wolford, Todd Andrew Hess, Gary Adkins, Cleve Allen Wolford, Steve Mullins, Rick Saine and Spud Dogle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scottie Steffey, Jerry Wayne Wolford, Eugene Wolford and Skylar Hess. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Sunday where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM with Pastor Larry Brooks officiating.
