Anthony R. Blanchard, a resident of Doylestown for the past 30 years, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 70.
Anthony was the loving husband of Nancy W. Blanchard
Born in Weston, Mass., a son of the late Willard and Nancy Blanchard
Anthony was a proud and decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the 1st Calvary, Airborne Rangers.
Anthony enjoyed cars and motorcycles. He was a driving instructor for BMW, Porsche and Ferrari car clubs. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter BMWCCA as well as Ferrari and Porsche clubs and the Indian Valley Harley Owners Group.
Most of all, Anthony loved his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Kristi, of Ottsville, and Scott and his wife, Melissa, of Santa Fe, N.M., a daughter, Elizabeth of North Wales; and his two grandchildren, Karli and Daniel.
A memorial gathering will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, with a flag presentation by the U.S. Army Honor Guard at 6:30 p.m.
