Ricky Allen Dodson was released from his Earthly body on Saturday, June 19, 2010 and is now home with the Lord, where his mother has greeted him with open arms. Ricky was the son of Jerry and Idonna Dodson. They devoted their lives to caring for their special son and he was a joy to them and all who knew him. Ricky is survived by his father, his sisters, Karyn Weter of Ozark, and her daughters Kaylea, Shelby, Tatum and Hannah; Kimberly Nelson-Gramm of Springfield, her husband Eric and their children Emily, Nick, Libby, Maria, Paula, Jon and Kimberly. Ricky will also be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including his special friend Amanda from Day Break. Ricky was a happy soul, who never met a stranger. He always had a ready smile. Despite his limitations Ricky was an avid fisherman. Ricky was a true believer. He believed in the promise of heaven and that good should always beat evil. Ricky believed in Santa, the Easter Bunny and he made life more fun. Ricky was preceded in death by his devoted mother, Idonna and his grandparents. Visitation will be at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home from 5-7pm on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Funeral Mass will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Loymeyer Funeral Home.
