Obituary for Hazel I. Borden

Hazel I. Borden, a resident of Port Huron, died late Thursday afternoon in St. John Macomb Hospital, Warren. She was 81 years of age. Hazel was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on February 19, 1930, a daughter of the late Henry Carl and Mattie Mae (Spriggs) Bath. She was united in marriage to her beloved late husband, J.W. Borden on August 4, 1947 in Big Stone Gap. The couple have made their home in many places because of J.W. service to his country, before making their home in Port Huron for over 20 years. Hazel enjoyed crochet, gardening & yard work and baking her awesome orange-nut cake. She loved her savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful follower. She was strong willed and a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by the many she touched in her lifetime. Hazes is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Esther (Richard) Pfouts; her loving grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Marsack, Vanessa Heimer and Brian (Holly). She is also survived by 7 loving great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, J.W. on February 20, 2000 and by 4 brothers. Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Monday from 9am till time of funeral services at 11:30am. Burial will be next to her husband in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township at 3:30pm. Share memories with the family at www.faulmannwalsh.com.
