William Mitchell, Jr., 78, of Hobe Sound, FL died Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, FL after an extended illness.
Mr. Mitchell was born September 11, 1931 in Kearny, NJ and moved to Hobe Sound in 1996 from Toms River, NJ.
He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to retirement he was the Vice President of Devoe Marine Paint in Hoboken, NJ for 47 years.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of the VFW Post 10132 in Hobe Sound and a member of the Lost Lake Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beatrice Mitchell of Hobe Sound, sons William Mitchell, III of Laurel, MD and Kenneth Mitchell of Alpharetta, GA and two grandchildren.
Services: A gathering will be held 2-5 PM, October 17, 2009 at the family residence in Hobe Sound.
