Donald S. Campbell, 88, of Fort Pierce, FL died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his home. Mr. Campbell was born May 4, 1920 in Youngstown, PA and moved to Fort Pierce 27 years ago from Jeannette, PA Prior to his retirement he worked at Robertshaw Fulton Controls in New Stanton, PA as a Quality Control Inspector. Mr. Campbell was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in PA, and a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Cathryn ÂKittyÂ Campbell of Fort Pierce; daughter Joann Miedel, wife of the late Fred Miedel, of Latrobe, PA; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Russell Boward of Rock Hill, SC; sister Marilyn Walinski of White City, FL; brother Ralph Byerly formerly of Vero Beach; as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services: The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass will be celebrated 10 am Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 1201 SE Indian Street Stuart, FL 34997.
