Cynthia Armbruster

Cynthia Petroff Armbruster, 83, of Erie, died Friday morning January 21, 2011 at Golden Living Center Western Reserve following a brief illness. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born on November 21, 1927 a daughter of the late Fred and Irene Petroff. Cynthia had worked at General Electric where she met her husband, Raymond, and years later worked at Gannon University. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed bingo and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond H. Armbruster; one grandson, Michael Armbruster; two brothers, Fred and Tim Petroff; and one sister, Natalie DeMartino. Survivors include two sons, William Armbruster and Eric Armbruster, both of Erie; three grandchildren, Daniel, Ellen, and Jack Armbruster; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.. Services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2810 West 21st St., #12, Erie, 16506
