Dorothy L. Williams age 87, died Dec 9, 2011 at Iola Living Assistance in Iola, WI. As per her wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. The Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point assisted the family. Dorothy was born August 8, 1924 in Dix, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Louise (Luchsinger) Dobbs. She graduated from Monroe High School and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she received bachelors and masters degrees in music education. She taught music in Madison public schools for many years until her retirement. She was also a long-term member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra. She then resided in Montello, WI until entering the nursing home. She is survived by two sons: Chip (Joni Sutton) Williams, Plymouth, MN and Dan (Alice) Williams of Amherst, WI. Five grandsons: Stewart (Liz) Williams, Andrew Williams, Luke Williams, Jack Schermann and Joe Schermann. Two Great Grandchildren, two sisters: Elsbeth Petzold of Madison and Martha O’Brien of Finksburg, MD. She is preceded in death by one sister, Ada Iltis and one grandson Adam Williams. A memorial has been established in her name to the International Crane Foundation, P.O. Box 447, Baraboo, WI 53913.
