Anthony L. Peluso

Anthony (Tony) Peluso, age 94, of Rome, passed away peacefully December 7, 2011, at the Folts Home in Herkimer. He was born September 23, 1917, in Rome, a son of Alphonse and Maria Carmen, and educated in Rome schools. Tony was united in marriage to the former Josephine Seoane, on October 21, 1939, in the Church of St. John the Baptist, a blessed union of 57 years; she died on April 2, 1996. He worked at Revere Copper and Brass for over 40 years in the rolling mill. Tony proudly served in the U.S. Army, serving as an orthopedic mechanic during World War II. He was a member of the Smith Post, American Legion. Tony and Josephine loved spending time with, and entertaining family and friends. They also loved to travel and camp. Tony is survived by a daughter and son in law, Marie and Michael Fullem; a brother and sister in law, Joseph J. and Teresa Peluso of Rome; sisters-in-law, Sue Peluso and Ampara Taliani, both of Rome; grandson, Chris Fullem and great grandchildren, Logan and Nathan. He was predeceased by three sisters, Rae Ricco, Lena Pettinelli and Nancy Osbelt, and a brother, Louis Peluso. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday 1 to 2 PM, prior to the funeral service. The family would like to thank the staffs of Mohawk Homestead and Folts Home for their care, compassion and kindness during Tony’s residence and illness.
