Wilber H. Massey 12/31/1922 ~ 11/23/2011   Wilber H. Massey, 88, of Rifle passed away November 23, 2011.   Wilber was born December 31, 1922 in Brewster, Kansas to Robert & Emma (Evans) Massey.  The family eventually moved to Colorado.   Wilber worked as a clerk at the local City Market for 30 years.  He enjoyed gardening, which won him many ribbons at the Garfield County Fair.  He also spent time camping and hiking with his family, having hiked the Grand Canyon twice.  After his retirement he kept busy by driving the Senior Traveler.  He was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.   Wilber was preceded in death by his parents; brother Merlin; and his 2nd wife, Sue (Paulson).   He leaves behind his children RaLana (Dick) Gurney and Gary (Rachel) Massey; grandchildren David Northrop, Jr., Jamin Northrop, Kevin Massey and Robert E. Massey; and two great-grandchildren.   A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 31, 2:00 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 86 Village Drive, Rifle, CO.  Pastor David Bottroff will officiate.   Online condolences at RifleFuneralHome.com
