Memorial Candles

A Perpetual Tribute

The solitude and quiet peace of a flickering candle has long been a symbol of remembrance. Each candle lit will remain lit within this memorial website for the period you select. Your thoughtful gesture will be captured both in the candle as well as listed in perpetuity within the tributes section.

Memorial Trees

Circle of Life

In today’s changing world with climate change and environment concerns, “Honoring a Life” allows for family and friends to plant a memorial tree in honor of their loved one and friend. The purchase of a tree creates a beautiful permanent record on the Honoring a Life website, Each tree is planted through the efforts of Forestry Services throughout North America who determine where the greatest needs for reforestation are. Once planted, the geographical location where the tree is planted will be added to the record. A beautiful card is also sent to the family signifying your thoughtful gesture.

Financial Support

A Helping Hand

The time surrounding a death can often bring unexpected final expenses for the family far beyond the funeral itself. We are pleased to offer the ability for friends and relatives to financially support the family during their time of loss as an alternative to flowers and other sympathy gestures.

Obituary for Mr. Robert GILLESPIE

Robert William Gillespie
A beloved husband, son, father, grandfather and friend Bob Gillespie died October 12,2002.
A man of great faith and love. Exuberant, out going and humorous. Bob talked with everyone he saw, and he knew that everyone he talked with, added something to his life, that wasnt there before. And he was grateful for that.
Bob was a land surveyor and spent a large part of his life in the bush, surveying the "great Northwest. He was awarded a lifetime license as an Ontario prospector.
A big, strong, tough man, Bob waded through swamps, climbed mountains and never backed away from any obstacle. (he never wore "bug dope in the bush!)
He had a tender loving heart and appreciated the majesty of the earth and sky, the flora and fauna. The beauty of a child or a new flower blooming in his garden.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Nan, his mother Margaret, daughters Laurie Gillespie and Nathan and Leslie Hill: Kathy and Jerry Slobojan. His sons Tom and Charlene and Madelaine: Bob and Tanis and Megan, Taryn and Robyn: John and Tina and Patrick, Kathleen and Kelsey: Mark and Treva: Stephen and Debi and Jack and William: Gerald: and their mother Delores. He is also survived by Nans children.
Rod Johansen, Norine, Daniel and Kathleen: Trevor and Cathie Johansen and Tyler and Cody: Todd Johansen: and Kyle and Cindy Johansen.
His sister and friend Frances, and her husband Ernie Oksanen and their children Gary, Christine and Eric (here). Bob will be missed by his furry friends, Freddy and Phoebe.
