Alma Marie Stainbrook, age 96 passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday January 12, 2012 at the home of her daughter Joan M. Giles. She was born on January 8, 1916 a daughter of the late Ernest and Marie Rutter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claude L. Stainbrook in 1991, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by two daughters; Joan and her husband Roger Giles, Claudia and her husband Samuel Stafford; one grandson Roger A. Giles and three granddaughters Deborah M. Bemis and her husband Mark, Jennifer Heinrich and her husband Brian and Christina Wyant; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Alma was a member of Lake Shore Alliance Church most of her life where she served her Lord in teaching Sunday school, in leadership with the Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship and as secretary of the church board for several years. In later years she attended First Alliance Church with her family. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Friday from 6 to 9 PM. Additional calling will be held on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 PM at First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd. Erie, PA 16506. Funeral services will be held in First Alliance Church at 12:30 PM with Rev. David Snyder of First Alliance Church and Rev. Darrell Carny her nephew co-officiating. Private burial for the family will follow at Venango Cemetery in Venango, PA.
