Services for Lonnie “Bud” Powell, Jr. will be at 11AM, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Dry Prong Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mark Breland and Rev. Travis Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Friday, February 3, 2012 and from 9AM until time of service Saturday, February 4th at Dry Prong Assembly of God Church. Interment will be at Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA. Lonnie “Bud” Powell, Jr. of Dry Prong was born on August 6, 1925 in Grant Parish to parents Lonnie Powell Sr. and Winnie Jones Powell and passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his home. He was a loving father, avid fisherman, and loved to play baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Powell Sr. and Winnie Jones Powell; 2 brothers, Quincy Quitman Powell and Richard Powell; one sister Hazel Powell Sandifer. Those left to cherish his memory included 3 sons, Marlon Powell and April of Montgomery, Philip Powell and Linda of Ball, Timothy Powell of Sedona AZ; 4 daughters, Donna McLaughlin and Ed of Winnfield, Connie Oaks of Creola, Beverly Powell Boler and Michael of Dequincy and Lisa Powell Fredieu of Dry Prong; one brother Therman Powell of Houston; 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
