Harry Phillips

Mr. Harry Joseph Phillips, 62, of 121 Glendale Park, Rochester and Cook Road, Akwesasne, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 12, 2010 at his home in Akwesasne. Harry was born March 22, 1948 in Akwesasne, the son of Mitchell and Theresa Cook Phillips. He graduated from Salmon River Central School. Following graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on October 5, 1972, after 4 years of service. He married Karilyn “Curly” Cook on September 8, 1973 in Spencerport. Harry worked for many years at Eastman Kodak in Rochester and more recently Bergmann Associates until his retirement. He loved to watch his son and grandson play any sport. He loved to tinker with wood, shoveling snow, and being outside. He loved spending any time he could with his family. He is survived by his wife, Curly; 2 children, Greg Phillips of Akwesasne and Krystal Phillips of Rochester; his grandson, Grayson Phillips; 2 sisters, Dolores Phillips and Helen Jones of Akwesasne; 3 brothers and their wives, Louis and Nancy, Abram and Patricia, and Michael William and Helen, all of Snye; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the home of his niece, Bridget Phillips, 1090 Drum Street Road, Akwesasne, beginning at 3:00 PM Friday until the time of service. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2:00 PM at the home. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. Memorial Contributions may be made the Akwesasne Minor Lacrosse Teams.
