Carole H. “Kay” Hartman passed away February 23, 2012 at the Peaks Care Center. She was 77.
Kay was born March 31, 1934 in Terre Haute, Indiana to William and Consuelo (Clehouse) Kirkman. She graduated from Technical High School in Omaha, NE and attended William Woods Finishing School in Fulton, MO.
In 1953 she married Robert “Bob” Hartman in Omaha, NE. Together they moved to Boulder in 1966 and Longmont in 1990.
Kay was a homemaker looking after her children until they moved out of the house, after that she went to work as an in home care provider doing geriatric daycare.
Kay was a member of New Creation Church where she sung in the choir. She also belonged to Bible Study Fellowship, the Eastern Star, and Women’s Aglow. She enjoyed camping with her husband and family, music and signing, and spending time with her children and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son Robert Craig Hartman.
Kay is survived by her husband Bob, three sons William Scott Hartman of Fort Worth, TX, Douglas Kent (Vonda) Hartman of Lyons, CO, and Bradley Steven (Connie) Hartman of Loveland, CO; one daughter Dawn Ann (Ricky) Grauer of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren Joshua, Lyndon, Zachary, Joshua, Connor, Bella, Brie, Mia, Roth, Chris, and Robbie; one great-grandchild Emma; and her sister Anne (Dan) Langdon of Bella Vista, AR.
Visitation will be held 4-7 pm Tuesday February 28, 2012 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Funeral service 1:00 pm Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Burial at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Colorado Chapter Alzheimer’s Association or New Creation Church in c/o Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
