Alice Monteith

Alice Ann Monteith, 79, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Berwick on June 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Theodore M. and Grace E. Houck Doan. Alice retired as a clerk for the Bureau of Business Trust Fund Taxes, Corporation of Registration Unit. She enjoyed shopping and interior decorating. Alice was well known for cheering on her grandson, Chandler, as he played for the Lower Dauphin United traveling baseball team and on teams for the Hummelstown Baseball & Softball Association. She is survived by a son, William M. Monteith, Jr. fiancé of Bonnie L. Wilson of Red Lion; a daughter, Tonya A. Imbrognio wife of James S. of Hummelstown; a grandson, Chandler J. Imbrognio still at home; and two sisters, Barbara Carodiskey wife of Harold of Danville, and Nancy Linville widow of Joe of Harrisburg. Alice was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Doan and Joe Doan; and a sister, Phyllis Johnson. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Brian N. Medkeff-Rose, Chaplain of Hospice of Central PA, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. Friends are invited to the viewings in the funeral home Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
