Why order flowers through us?

Buying flowers from us ensures that your order will be fulfilled through working with a network florists that are trusted by local funeral homes and recognized partners of the funeral industry. A customized message, along with a photo of your selected arrangement will remain in perpetuity within this memorial website. This service also includes “Smart Select” whereby the store notifies you if your floral selection has already been selected by another sender. This allows you the opportunity to choose a different product to ensure the family has a beautiful and unique selection of unique floral arrangements.

The price of these selections also includes the funeral home’s care of the flowers after the funeral and the delivery to the family or facility of choice where they can be rearranged and enjoyed by others for a longer period.

Memorial Candles

A Perpetual Tribute

The solitude and quiet peace of a flickering candle has long been a symbol of remembrance. Each candle lit will remain lit within this memorial website for the period you select. Your thoughtful gesture will be captured both in the candle as well as listed in perpetuity within the tributes section.

Memorial Trees

Circle of Life

In today’s changing world with climate change and environment concerns, “Honoring a Life” allows for family and friends to plant a memorial tree in honor of their loved one and friend. The purchase of a tree creates a beautiful permanent record on the Honoring a Life website, www.honoringalife.org. Each tree is planted through the efforts of Forestry Services throughout North America who determine where the greatest needs for reforestation are. Once planted, the geographical location where the tree is planted will be added to the record. A beautiful card is also sent to the family signifying your thoughtful gesture.

Financial Support

A Helping Hand

The time surrounding a death can often bring unexpected final expenses for the family far beyond the funeral itself. We are pleased to offer the ability for friends and relatives to financially support the family during their time of loss as an alternative to flowers and other sympathy gestures.

Obituary for Wayne Kendall Shackelford

Wayne Kendall Shackelford, 49 of 8035 West Highway 152, Mooresville, died March 14, 2007 at his residence in his wife's arms.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 2:00 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville with the Rev. James V. Keogh, S. J., officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence following the Memorial Mass.
Mr. Shackelford was born May 17, 1957 in Richmond, VA, a son of the late Raymond C. Shackelford and Evelyn Carroll Shackelford. He was employed with Wal Mart Division Center on Albemarle Road in Charlotte as manager. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.. To those who knew Wayne knew that he never met a stranger, was everyone's friend and always a friend. Wayne had a great heart, the heart of a child. He brought out the best in everyone. "Would give you the shirt off his back". He had a passion for the outdoors...especially the ocean, disc golf (1977 S&P Kite, 2nd Place), being outside at our home, loved cruising in his "customized" Wayne Crown Royal Van with 13 speakers. His main love besides his wife and kids, was playing guitar and singing for everyone. Wayne was a self-taught musician at guitar and vocals. From age 7 years, he played in Matthews, Charlotte, Mooresville and Concord on his own and with friends. He played with "We Band", and Reach. He always took his guitar with him ready to fill others with his love for music and make their hearts full.
His kids remember him playing "Danny's Song" and "Pooh Corner" to them. Wayne leaves many to remember his life, his welcoming smile, forgiving nature and love for joy. He will be dearly missed, especially by his "Sugar Buddy", five year old daughter, Kendall, whom he took to Disney two weeks ago for her birthday like he promised.....26 year old son, Tim, who brought Wayne and his wife Margo together. During this challenging time, Wayne and Margo stood on their faith in God. He was brave, courageous and still caring about others. He fought hard and his fight is a testimony to many. Many people will remember the courage and willpower he had with Faith.
He will be so missed for many reasons but we know he is with Jesus now and kept his strength in God's Word, his parents, friend Kenny and dog Angel "Puppy Love". We want to thank everyone who helped us in what ever way it was, be it visiting, calling or prayers. You are all greatly appreciated.
I LOVE YOU MY HUSBAND forever, "The greatest event of my life!" Margo
