Obituary for Jeanette Marie Mayberry

Mrs. Jeanette Marie Moore Mayberry, affectionately called, “Net Net”, 68, of 120 Paddington Court, Troutman, died at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on January 17, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Israel and Lessie “Frankie” Scott Moore. She was married to Lonnie Gaither Mayberry, who survives. She was preceded in death by two children, Toni Donette Moore and Derrick “Moochie” Ward; a granddaughter, Jessica Ward and a brother, Gene Moore.
She attended the Iredell County Schools. At an early age, she attended St. James Baptist Church of Troutman and later moved her membership to Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life in addition to her husband, Lonnie, two children, Pamela (Kevin) Polnitz of Mooresville and Richard Anthony Moore of Harmony; two step children, Anna Maria O’Bryant and Janice (James) Hunt, both of Statesville; a daughter-in-law, Kim Kimbrough and Melissa Ward; two sisters, Mary Lois Walker of Troutman and Agnes (Luther) Moten of Statesville; six grandchildren, Du’juan Jabaar Moore; Jeanette Yvette Moore, Reginald Polnitz, Derrick Mayberry-Ward, Jr., Carrie Jeanette Mayberry-Ward, Monique Chamantelle Polnitz; seven step-great grandchildren, Ashley Mayberry, Ebony Wasson, Terrance Wasson, Racasha Dawson, Jareel Dawson, Kendrick Mayberry and Audrey O’Bryant; four great grandchildren, Ja’Nyah Polnitz, Shonanna Turner, Ja’Qualen Polnitz, Ja’Leil Polnitz; one step great grandchild, Alyiah Mayberry; two great aunts, Camilla Scott and Mary Scott, both of Troutman; several nieces and nephews including, Denise Walker of Winston-Salem, Benita Sigmon of Statesville, Gene Moore, Thomas Adams, Franklin Moore, Johnny Calvin Walker and Preston Moten; a great nephew, Cameron Bridges; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012, at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Bishop Joe T. Byers will officiate and Rev. J. C. Byers will eulogize and burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mayberry will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 11:30 p.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home, but will assemble at the residence at other times.
