Shirley Hughes (nee Shaw) Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Alton (1990). Dear mother of Larry and Verna of Lindsay, Mike and Mary of Janetville, Jim and Wendy of Peterborough, Sandy and Mike Teatro of Lindsay, Pat and Barry Wilson of Newcastle. Loving grandma of Corey, Stacey, Nicholas, David, Melanie, Shaun (Sonal), Laura (Chad), Joshua, Matthew, Anthony, Amanda, Brandon, Jake and great grandma of eight great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers Bob, and Charlie and by her sister Pearl. In accordance to Shirley’s wishes, a Private Visitation will be held for the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0 on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 11:00 am until the time of the Private Family Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. Reception will be held in the Family Centre at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Gelert Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
