Pamela Reeves Obituary

Pam left this world on July 10, 2012 to lend her hands in the heavenly gardens. At her request a Life Celebration was held on June 23 as Pam’s gift to her friends and family. Her last days were spent with family and friends surrounding her, celebrating her heart and spirit. Our thanks to the wonderful care provided by Hospice during this time. Pamela Christine (Bigbey) Reeves was born in Yakima, WA on August 31, 1949 to Howard and Wanda (Treat) Bigbey. She attended schools in Yakima, graduating from Davis High School. She went on to attend Central Washington University. Pam did some modeling while in Yakima. She was a classy and stylish lady who always looked beautiful and could effortlessly put together the most fantastic outfits, hats and jewelry. She later owned a Flower and Plant shop in Newport, OR and worked at the 4 Corners in Poulsbo where she met James Reeves. She and Jim were married on November 16, 1985 and resided in Poulsbo and Pt. Townsend. She adopted the roles of wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandma with her whole heart and loved her family unconditionally. She also was committed to her community and helped in organizing MS walks in Pt. Townsend during her time there. In 2001 she and Jim moved to Copalis Beach, WA to enjoy a slower life style. Shortly after arriving in Copalis Beach, Pam went to work at the Sunrise Market in Ocean City. Being a people person she enjoyed meeting and making friends with everyone in the beach community. She brightened all our lives and we will miss her positive attitude, insight and smiling face. She will always be in our hearts and memories. Pam enjoyed gardening and she left evidence of her skills, besides in her own yard, for all to see and enjoy at the Copalis Beach Post Office where she planted Red Hot Pokers to get the landscaping started. In addition, Sunrise Market has a world class Christmas Cactus that blooms at least twice each year thanks to Pam’s love of growing things. We will all smile and remember Pam each time we see her contributions to the community she loved. In addition, she loved decorating, entertaining and checking the thrift store bargains. Many an impromptu gathering was enjoyed by family and friends and with a little time for planning, her parties were legend. Pam is survived by Jim at the family home. She was the oldest child and is survived by her sister, Debbie Rucker of Kamiah, Idaho; her brothers, Daniel Bigbey of Belize and Jeff (Heather) Bigbey of Kamaih, Idaho and a half-brother, Patrick Young of Puyallup, WA. She is also survived by her mother and step-father, Richard and Wanda Young of Puyallup, WA; step-children, Jesse Reeves of Poulsbo, WA and Lisa (Larry) Wylee of Mad River, Calif.; grandchildren, Tyson Reeves of Portland, Oregon, Amanda Reeves of Poulsbo, WA, and Jessica Reeves of Silverdale, WA; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Erin; aunts , Dorothy (Richard) Betsch of Yakima, WA and Mecki Treat of Raymond, WA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted daughter Kathy Kafoury of Albany, Oregon. Her father, Howard Bigbey preceded her in death. At Pam’s request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hospice or a charity of your choice.
