Barbara Ann Brown , 78 ofAtchison, KS, died Saturday, September 17th, 2011 at the Atchison Senior Village.Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21st, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.Barbara Ann Benton was born on November 6, 1932 in Hiawatha, KS, the daughter of Horace C. ¡°Ben¡± and Audrey (Pautz) Benton. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1950. She attended nurses training at the Missouri Methodist School of Nursing, graduating in 1953. Barbara worked as a registered nurse for the Atchison Hospital. She retired in 1978. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and especially her family and grandchildren.She was married to Benjamin W. Brown on April 9, 1954 in Carson City, NV. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1988. Survivors include two sons; Daniel (Joyce) Brown, Gower, MO., and Paul (Sherry) Brown, Nortonville, KS, three daughters; Judy (Wes) Lentz, Stockbridge, MI, Jane (Dwaine) Klingman, Atchison, KS, and Beth (Rob ) Stone, Atchison, KS, Twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Her parents, husband Benjamin, two sons; Audie and Richard, and a grandson; Craig Klingman preceded her in death.
