Doyle Reid Hill II Doyle Reid Hill II, age 61 of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Doyle Reid Hill Sr. and Virginia Mae Harrill Hill. He was a nurse and earned a masters degree. Reid was a Major in the US Army, serving in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom. He was a member of DAV, VFW, the Reserve Officer Association and Sigma Theta Tau. He is survived by his daughter, Daphnie Hill Atchley of Rutherfordton; son Darien Rouen Hill and wife Sherry of Rutherfordton; brother Douglas Ray Hill of Alexander Mills; sister Rhonda Denise Hill of Forest City; six grandchildren, Dylan Hill, Caleb Hill, Cameron Hill, Hallie Kate Hill, Steven Atchley and Sydney Atchley, and companion Nancy Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at Crowe’s Mortuary, at 4PM with Rev. Dale Owens and Rev. Kelly Luckadoo officiating. Interment will follow in Walls Baptist Church cemetery.
