Eileen Welch-Romain Obituary

Eileen Gale Welch-Romain was born in Queens General Hospital in Jamaica, New York on June 20, 1955 to the late Lucrose and Minnie Daniels. She was the youngest of four children. Her siblings Philip, Anthony and Maryann Daniels all preceded her in death. She departed this world on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Calvary Hospital located in the Bronx, New York. She attended elementary and junior high schools within the Queens Public School System but graduated from Central Commercial High School in Manhattan. In 1975, she studied at Staten Island College. She also completed a training course with the New York City Police Department (Police Academy) that she was quite proud of. On June 21, 2008, Eileen married the love of her life, Ramon A. Romain. The two of them traveled extensively, which she so enjoyed. Also among her favorite things to do, she loved watching her husband and his jazz band members perform at various locations, she loved going to Atlantic City, and going to the spa for a day of relaxation. Eileen was employed by Samaritan Village, Inc. for eleven years as a Case Manager in the capacity of a Chemical Dependence Counselor, a position in which she flourished. In April of 2010, she left due to her health issues. Eileen was affectionately known as "Eyes" or "Spunky." With her out-going personality and a smile that could light up a room, she was loved by so many and will be truly missed by all. She leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband, Ramon; doting children, Stevie Daniels, LaShawn Daniels, Aikeasha Daniels and Ramiek Stallings; devoted stepchildren, Kenya, Emoni and Ramon A. Romain Il; grandchildren, Correll, Quashaw, Derrell, Ibrahim, Kylif, Sean, Waquetta, Charsity, Deja, Haleem, Jr., Brionnah, Ramon III, Brianna and Deniah; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kimora and Aniyah; special cousin/brother, Alvin Curry; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends too numerous to mention.
