Julia Marie Thomas, age 86 of Coffeyville, Kansas, formerly of Prescott, Mound City, LaHarpe, Kansas died Sunday August 28, 2011 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born on September 11, 1924 in Levant, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Justina Bruenn Golemboski. She graduated from Colby High School. She married George Thomas on December 31, 1948 at Colby, Kansas he preceded her in death on November 15, 2008. She was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville, the VFW Auxiliary of LaHarpe, and was a hard working farm wife. Also preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers; Frank and Edward Golemboski, a sister Helen Ribordy, and two grandchildren. She is survived by four sons William “Bill” Thomas of Salina, Kansas, Fredrick Thomas and wife Phyllis of Salina, Kansas, Gary Thomas of Rhinelander Wisconsin, and Glenn Thomas and wife Connie, of Colony, Kansas, four daughters Janet Rau and Husband Maurice of Elk City, Kansas, Ethel McDaniel and husband Bill of Carbondale, Kansas, Wanda Rudiger of Chino Valley, Arizona, and Rose Thomas of Saint Pete Beach, Florida, a brother Joe Golemboski of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four sister; Marge Sinclair of Jetmore, Kansas, Dorothy Beckman of Wichita, Kansas, Victoria Hume of Wichita, Kansas and Betty Sherlock of Saint Francis, Kansas, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday August 30, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas, Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 Pm Tuesday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas. Rosary will be at 1:00 Pm at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, at Mound City. The Family suggests contributions to the Julia Thomas Memorial Fund.
