Obituary for Leslie Robert Pettersen

Leslie "Tubby" Pettersen, age 59, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with Pastor Bringle officiating. Interment is at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Visitation is from 4-8 PM, Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service at church.

Tubby Pettersen, the son of Robert and Ethel (Hennis) Pettersen was born October 26, 1952. Tubby graduated from Madelia High School in 1971, then attended Mankato Vo-Tech and studied agri-business production for two years. He farmed with his father and brother until 1984. Following his father’s death he farmed for several years alone.
He married Carol Smith on September 6, 1980 in Madelia. They had two children and together they operated a snowmobile/ATV business for 25 years. In recent years he was self-employed as a trucker. Tubby enjoyed life and socializing with friends. He also loved talking about Allis Chalmers farm equipment, Chevrolet trucks, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. He was a life-long resident of Madelia.
Tubby is survived by his wife, Carol Pettersen of Madelia; 2 children, Brittany Pettersen of Mankato and Darren Pettersen of Madelia; mother, Ethel Pettersen of Madelia and brother, Jim (Myra) Pettersen of Madelia. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Pettersen.
