Charles P. Hufnagle

Charles P. Hufnagle, 68, a lifelong resident of Sellersville, entered his eternal life, Wednesday, April 9, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the husband of Karen (West) Hufnagle of Iowa and the former husband of the late Alice (Curley) Hufnagle. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Charles P. and Adelaide (Groves) Hufnagle. He had been employed for many years as a tool and die maker with the U.S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc. Sellersville, before retiring in 1997. He was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where he had been a coach of CYO Basketball. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Great Swamp Fish and Game Club, both in Quakertown; and the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 245, Sellersville. He had also been a member of the Lansdale Catholic High School Fathers Club. Charlie was a true nature lover. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the stars. Most of all, he was a devoted father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters: Alicia M. Schlosser, of Souderton; Ann M. Clemens, and her husband, Douglas, of Stamford, CT; Theresa M. Lex and her husband, Kenneth, of Sellersville; Cynthia M. Byndas and her husband, Sean, of Stewartstown, PA and Susan M. Benatti, of Ambler; one son, Charles E. Hufnagle and his wife, Patricia, of Harleysville; two sisters: Mary Mroz and her husband, Ted, of Telford and Lynne von Mechow and her husband, Ted, of Sellersville; and ten grandchildren: Nicole, Aaron, Brittny, Chelsea, Alexandria, Anastasia, Sarah, Charles, Samantha, and Valerie. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Adelaide Marie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, at 11 :00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the adjacent parish cemetery.
