Obituary for Sallie K. Smith

Sally K. (Lutz) Smith, 90, formerly of Temple, passed away Sunday morning, November 21, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Exeter.

She was the daughter of the late Fred and Esther (Reider) Lutz, and the wife of the late John F. Smith, who passed away in 1990.

She was a member of Zion-Spies Evangelical Reformed Church and a member of the former Oley and Alsace Manor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons: Paul L. Smith and his wife Carole of Pittsburg and John L. Smith and his wife Wendi of Reading; three daughters: Betty J. Ustaszewski and her husband Joseph of Reading, Sallie K. Fisher of Reading, and Nancy A. Lena, widow of the late Gary Lena of West Lawn; three brothers: Lloyd Lutz of Oley, Robert Lutz of Maidencreek Township, and Fred Lutz of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; five sisters: Elsie Cooper of Laureldale, Edna Schaefer of Sinking Spring, Helen Miller of Temple, Betty Dombroski of Riverview Park, and Thelma Napoletano of Temple; nine grandchildren: David Smith, Tracey Wentzel, Daniel Fisher, Kathy Boyer, Lisa Rone, John and Anthony Lena, and Amanda and Emily Smith; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. “Bobby” Smith, and two daughters, Mildred and Ruth Ann Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11:00 am from Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley, with Pastor Merrill R. Marisseau officiating. Burial will follow in Shalter’s Church Cemetery, Alsace Township. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
