Lavaun Sullivan Doss, age 87, of the Friendship Community in Glade Spring, Va., went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born August 16, 1925, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Eli and Rhoda Blevins Sullivan. She lived in Pennsylvania for 15 years but spent most of her life in Washington County. She was a graduate of Liberty Hall High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church and Damascus Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard G. Doss, Sr.; her second husband Willard O. Doss; two grandsons, Chad Doss and Brian Doss; four brothers, Kenneth Sullivan, Sidney Sullivan, Dick Sullivan, and Lee Roy Sullivan; and two sisters, Stella Sullivan and Maude Doss. Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Doss Snodgrass and husband John of Chilhowie, Virginia; two sons, Tom Doss and wife Phyllis of Marion, Virginia, and Willard G. Doss, Jr. and wife Susan of Glade Spring, Virginia; seven grandchildren, T. R. Doss and special friend Linda DiSanto, Brandy Doss, Angela Harman and husband Dr. Eric Harman, Michael Sullivan and wife Lori, Steven Snodgrass, John Snodgrass II, and George Doss and wife Marylou; nine great-grandchildren, Tanner, Gabrielle, Alley, Tiffany, Gavin, Drake, Kolby, Gwynnie, and Lexie; four step-daughters, Virginia Myers, Mary Rippeon, and Anna Waggoner, all of Pennsylvania, and Lillie Mae Houch of Maryland; and several step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. at Little Rock Baptist Church in Glade Spring, Virginia, with Bro. Buster Mullins and Michael Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 P. M. until time of the funeral service. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and men of Little Rock Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at her home 36263 Loves Mill Road at any time.
