Carole E. Strickland, 76, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, November 16th, 2012.
She was born Saturday, June 27, 1936 in Smithtown, New York, a daughter of the late Bernoff O. Hansen and Dagmar (Nikklesen) Hansen.
On March 27th, 1954 at St. James Lutheran Church in St. James, New York, she married Richard G. Strickland who passed away on February 20th, 2010.
She is survived by their son, Richard G. Strickland, Jr., and wife Deborah (Jarvis) Strickland, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a daughter, Carole S. Hendricks, of Bedford, and a grandson, Keith M. Hendricks, of Bedford.
She was preceded in passing away by two grandsons, Scott Dean Hendricks and Bryan Richard Hendricks, and a son-in-law Jerry D. Hendricks.
Mrs. Strickland was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Bedford where she was a volunteer helper at the St. James Thrift Shop.
Before moving to Bedford County, Carole and her husband Richard lived in Norrisville, Maryland where they were active in Harford County Republican politics, and after moving to Bedford, she was a member of the Bedford County Garden Club.
The family will hold a private memorial service with burial at Woods Church Cemetery.
