Louise LiVolsi

Louise C. LiVolsi passed away peacefully after a brief illness on November 27, 2012. She was born Louise Carmela Pavia on November 29, 1918 in Stamford, lived in Revonah Woods for many years and was a proud graduate of Stamford High School class of 1936. She was the youngest child of Vita Genovese and Nicolo Pavia. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Thomas S. LiVolsi, Sr., and by her four brothers, Joseph, Michael, Samuel and Paul Pavia Sr., and five sisters, Madeline Chiapetta, Rose Rosa, Antoinette Martinelli, Adeline Tucker, Yolanda Perna. She is survived by 4 sons, Sebastian F. LiVolsi and his wife Carolyn Bafundi LiVolsi, and children Kristin Trager and Jillian LiVolsi; Thomas S. LiVolsi, Jr. and his wife Ruth and daughter Katharine; Nicholas P. LiVolsi, Jack P. LiVolsi and daughter Louise LiVolsi Petersen and her children Heather Aldo and Edward, Barry, Sean and Lisa Petersen. Louise has 6 great grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Aldo, Sadie and Sebastian Trager and Michael and Jack Petersen. She was a devoted wife and mother and known for her beauty, style, warm smile and wry sense of humor. She deeply loved all her children and grandchildren and was the loving Aunt to many, many nieces and nephews. She cherished family gatherings where she would entertain and express her talents for art and singing. She was a member of Sweet Adelines and enjoyed travelling with the chorus for many years. During her lifetime Louise worked in Stamford, notably the Stamford Shirtwaist Factory, and Bloomingdales Department Store. She and her husband Thomas owned and operated LiVolsi Liquor Shoppe from 1948 to 1973 on River Street in Stamford. The few last years were spent at Waveny Care Center. The family wants to thank all the staff for their kind and compassionate care of our mother. Friend and family may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Sunday December 2, 2012 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:40AM on Monday December 3, 2012 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1170 Shippan Ave., Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Louise’s name to the Waveny Health Care Center, 3 Farm Road, New Canaan, CT 06840.
