Betty Caine Pickens of Moulton, passed away at home on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Betty was born October 5, 1930 in Lawrence County to the late A. Russel Caine and Bessie Richarson Caine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Pickens, daughter, Laura Pickens and son, Alan Pickens. Funeral services will be held at Moulton Baptist Church on Satuday, May 7, 2011. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with the service at 1:00 PM with Elliott Funral Home directing. Betty and Bobby developed Pickens sub-division. After Bobby's death, she continured to develop several properties along Alabama Highway 157. LaurAl Plaza was named in memory of her children. She served on the advisory board of CB&S Bank and was a longtime member of Moulton Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Jane Price of Monticello, GA and one brother, Russell Caine (Lois) of Las Vegas, Nev. Nieces and nephews will remember her for being supportive, a good listener, a lot of fun and always being welcome in her home. Pallearers will be nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the care given to her for five years by POam Simms and for 2 years by Deborah Dye and Gail Sivley. Thank you. The family would also like to thank Dr. Shannon Heinrich for taking care of Betty and giving our family support. In liew of flowers, memorials may be made to Moulton Baptist Chruch or to support any community affected by the tornado's.
