Obituary for Vivian I. Hoover

Vivian I. (Turner) Hoover, 86, of Muncie, IN, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009. She was born on February 18, 1923 in Hartford City, IN to the late John A. and Hazel E. (Stewart) Turner. Vivian attended Muncie Central High School. Vivian worked as a secretary for many years. Vivian was a member of the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, as well as the Women of the Moose, and 41 Lunch Bunch, all of Muncie. Vivian also enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with them, completing puzzles, crafting, and dancing. She was also a volunteer at Ball Memorial Hospital. Surviving relatives include her loving daughters, Kathy Lawson (husband: Phil) of Selma, IN; Jeri Kay (Hoover) Briscoe of Long Beach, CA; and Janet Bertram (husband: Randy) of Selma, IN; grandchildren Tony Lawson (wife: Jennifer) of Selma, IN; Tim Lawson (wife: Stacy) of Muncie, IN; Julie (Lawson) Eiser of Selma, IN; Casey Bertram of Selma, IN; and Mark Lobel (wife: Gina) of Chino Hills, CA; and 8 great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy McReynolds and Sue Johanski; and brother, Jack Turner. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the funeral home. Dr. Dennis Hammons will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to The Little Red Door, 401 W. Jackson St, Muncie, IN 47305 in memory of Vivian.
