Obituary for Barry Glenn Hobbs

Mr. Barry Glenn Hobbs, 49, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 in Rowan County. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Kannapolis Church of God. Pastor Sam Crisp, Pastor John Taylor and Pastor Mike Oney will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5:30 pm, prior to the service, at the church. Mr. Hobbs was born on August 14, 1963 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Madison Hastings and Gwendolyn Waldroup Nunn. He was the minister of music and Fine Arts at Kannapolis Church of God. Barry was the chief operating officer of information technology. He was the co-owner of Hobbs Mixed Martial Arts and Salon 419, both in Kannapolis. Barry was an anointed worship leader and touched the lives of many. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. Barry is survived by his wife, Joy Helms Hobbs; two children, Anna Renee Hobbs and Madison Jerry Hobbs, both of China Grove; three brothers, Tom Nunn of China Grove, Tim Nunn of Lexington and Frank Hobbs of FL; and father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Janet Helms of China Grove..
