Earl Sorrells Obituary

Earl Evans Sorrells Brevard – Earl Evans Sorrells, 86, passed on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Everett Hosea Sorrells and Sarah Elizabeth Evans Sorrells. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, J.T., Clyde, Fred, and John Sorrells, his sisters, Marenda Holden, and Mazie Spafford, and step-brother, Howard Mooney. Mr. Sorrells was veteran of the U. S. Army. He was an avid bowler and was a part of the “Chain Gang” for Brevard High School Football for 50 years. Surviving are his brothers, James A. Sorrells and Richard “Moby” Sorrells both of Brevard; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
