GALENKAMP, Harold J., Jr., age 72 of Wyckoff, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 18, 2013. Born in Paterson, Harold was a lifelong resident of Wyckoff. He continued in his father’s footsteps operating the Sicomac Dairy in Wyckoff. Harold took great pride in his beloved Wyckoff where he served on the Township Committee and five terms as Mayor. He was a member of Sicomac Engine Company # 3 of the Wyckoff Fire Dept. where he served as Deputy Chief. He was Aid to Senator Henry J. McNamara and served as a Bergen County Commissioner. Harold was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church formerly the Wyckoff Baptist Church. Surviving is his loving wife of 47 years, Jeannine (nee Murray), his devoted daughters, Heidi and her husband Stephen Misovic and Heather and her husband Mark Borst. Harold is also survived by his five grandchildren Emelia, Molly, Erin, Sara and Nate, and his brothers, Kenneth and James. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 Am at the Hawthorne Gospel Church, 200 State Hwy Rt. 208 North, Hawthorne, NJ. Interment will follow in the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Visiting is Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
