James Richard Johnson, 73 years, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in his home with family and friends by his side.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Johnson will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Peaks Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Eastman officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m.
A native of Frankfort, he was born October 17, 1939. Mr. Johnson was a mechanic for 55 years and the owner of East Frankfort Wheel Alignment. He was an active member and served as trustee of Peaks Mill Baptist Church where he and his family felt blessed to be a part of “our church.”
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Joyce Ann True Johnson; sons, Richard W. Johnson (Susan), Shelbyville, Chris E. Johnson (Melissa), Frankfort; daughter, Gena L. Johnson, Shelbyville; mother, Thelma Lee Cozine Johnson Golt; Frankfort; brother, Robert L. Johnson (Vivian), Shelbyville; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by son, Leonard Michael Johnson and his father, Leonard Johnson.
