Elsia Lowery Obituary

Elsia A. Lowery, 83, of Milton passed away peacefully after a short illness, on Friday, April 19, 2013. Mrs. Lowery was born on February 14, 1930, in Pensacola, but lived most of her life in Milton. She retired after over 20 years of employment at the Santa Rosa Health & Rehab, Milton, FL. She attended Milton First Assembly of God Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. One of her favorite church activities was meeting with the I-Canners group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lowery. She is survived by three daughters; Dorothy Dunning, Florence Stewart, and Cindy Lowery (Joey Neal); five grandchildren, Pat, Jeremy, Stefany, Shea and Kevin; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; ....and a host of family and friends who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Milton, with the Rev. Fred Rogers and the Rev. Glyn Lowery, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Serenity Gardens Cemetery, with Lewis Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Milton. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Melvin, Jeremy Tompkins, Brian West, Joey Neal, W. A. Lowery, Don Ragland, Buddy O’Quinn, and Jack Hudson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Milton First Assembly of God Church, 6163 Dogwood Drive, Milton, FL 32570 or Covenant Hospice, 8383 North Davis Hwy, 3N, Pensacola, FL 32514. Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
