Charles James Daley, 99, of Ashland passed away at home on April 25, 2013. He was born in Connerton,PA March 23,1914 the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Murphy) Daley. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Girardville, 1932. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Daley's Men's Clothes and Family Shoes in Ashland 1952-1976. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Ashland, member and past exalted ruler of the Ashland Elks, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, former member of the Ashland Kiwanis, and former member of the Serra Club. Preceding him in addition to his parents were: Brothers John and Joseph Daley(Former Bishop of Harrisburg), and sisters Mary Barrett, Sister Josefina (Catherine), Anne Daley, Sara Daley, and Peggy Branin. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, the former Philomena Paladine Daley , Daughter Mary Anne Misiewicz and husband Jack, Grandchildren Anne Tarantelli and husband Edward and children Michael, Maura, and Dane; John Misiewicz and wife Michelle and children Laura, John, and Bryan; Susan Melendez and husband Richard and children Zachary and Emily; Brother Thomas Daley of Glenn Mills, PA;and nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 30,2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA. Internment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA Visitation Tuesday 9:00-11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Ashalnd,PA .
