Katie Ruth Blackwell, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Signature Health Care. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bros. Steve Miller and Charles Thornburg officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Katie entered this life on August 16, 1932 in Paris, TN, daughter of Ed and Nellie Burton Sills. She was retired from Acme Boot Company and was a member of the church family at the Warfield Boulevard Church of Christ. In addition to her parents Katie has been reunited with her brother, James Sills, and her loving husband, Walter Blackwell. Her legacy will be cherished by her surviving family which includes daughters, Deborah Weiss and husband Cliff of Clarksville and Kathy Taylor and husband Dale of Dover, grandchildren, Brad Rye and Sarah Childers and husband Mike, and great grandchildren, Christopher and Zachary Childers.
