James Dutton, Sr., 84, of 3305 Calhoun Falls Highway, husband of Allene Maddox Dutton passed away Sunday May 12, 2013 at his home. Born July 15, 1928 in Hartwell, Georgia to the late Edgar "Ed" Dutton and Mamie Boles Dutton. He was a retired automotive mechanic and attended the Elberton Church of God. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Allene Maddox Dutton of the home; daughters and son-in-law Jennifer and Jason Moon of Elberton, Georgia; Mechelle Cole, Barbara Dutton of Hartwell, Georgia and Martha Dutton of Clay Center, Kansas; sons and daughter-in-law James Dutton, Jr. and Sushi Dutton of Fairbanks, Alaska and Alton and Elizabeth Dutton of Elberton, Georgia; sisters Lillian Wilson of Savannah, Georgia; Geneva Grimes of Elberton, Georgia and Dorothy Rousey of Hodge, South Carolina; brothers Charles Dutton of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Garrison Dutton of Winston, Georgia and Jerry Dutton of Elberton, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Rudy Nell House and Kathleen Grizzle; brothers Amos Dutton and infant brother J.C. Dutton. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2PM Thursday, May 16 at the Elberton Church of God with Reverend James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Tony McCall, Austin Cole, Dennis Rousey, Blake Moon, Frankie Allison and Callie Campbell serving as pallbearers.
