HEEMSKERK, Cornelis - At the Ottawa Heart Institute on Friday, October 11, 2002. Cornelis Heemskerk of R. R. #1, Long Sault; age 73 years. Beloved husband of the former Elly Van Es for 49 years. Dear father of Keith Heemskerk (Gayle) of Grand Rapids, Michigan and John Heemskerk (Marian) of Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by his beloved son, Brian Heemskerk. Loving grandfather of Brandon, Brent, Austin, Matthew and Christina. Dear son of the late Cornelis Heemskerk and the late Prijna Van Der Vijver, formerly of Rijnsburg, the Netherlands. Mr. C. Heemskerk was a veteran of the Dutch Army, having served in Indonesia with the 42 AAT Division. Cornelis will be sadly missed by his many friends and members of the Heemskerk and Van Es families. Resting at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (932-8482) from 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday, October 16, 2002 for Service in Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church at 2 p.m. Pastor Herb Vanderbeek officiating. Interment, St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Ingleside. The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.
